A politician friend of mine with a close eye to detail and an ear to the ground painted a vivid memorial tapestry of the current going ons on the Kenyan leadership struggle catalyzed by the G-Zee revolt. The political parties and politicians, both old and young want to be the definition of our future. So do the G-Zee. Our foreign “friends” want to be paternalist and tell us where to go.  The elephant question being will this revolution be allowed to ripen and mature to deliver the Canaan we have yearned for since 1963?

My fertile artistic mind soared and delivered the followig scenario:

——

The Scene: An open Savannah space surrounded by myriad of high acacia trees and delineated by a meandering river.

The audience (or investors?): A variety of all manner of sized vultures on top of the buildings starring at the space below acutely tuned to the action about to happen and the potential of their returns. Nearby are other scavengers, hyenas and their ilk, not forgetting the crocodile infested river.

The Actors: A prey of hungry lions bringing down a pregnant female buffalo

The Dramatic moment: palpable and intense mix of excitement, hunger and expectation. The actors are convinced that their hunt will be rewarded by a sumptuous bloody meal; the audience too expect to get the very fleshy morsel they believe they deserve; and the hunted expects to escape, intact to live, produce its offspring and be forever free in a Canaan devoid of terror and death.

Then a peal of distant thunder declares: Sound and cameras rolling… aaaaand Action….!

A burst of muscle energy propels an alpha male lion onto the bufalo’s neck, breaking it with a mighty clap by the cat’s paw. The lion goes for the jugular while another bites into the struggling victims snout. The victim falls down and with a whimper takes leave of this planet, for eternity. The gory of a feast begins. The audience look on with expectation evidenced by the drooling mouths. But lol, the excitement wanes as the carnivorous cats dig into the bowels with gusto very much as investor shareholders would of their dividends. Each lion mouthful reduces the prospects for those waiting to be invited until what remains is a paltry pile of gleaming bones under the African sky. Earth is hard, my friend.

Growls of dissapointment grows among the hungry audience as they comprehend that this was not going to be their day. What follows is what we often see in the faces of frustrated citizenry who take to the streets to demand for their rights.

Sounds familiar?

Be kind enough to complete the script or develop an AI generated animation piece for our consideration.
